Press release -
PR industry stands firm on Russian ban – PRCA
The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has reminded PR professionals to consider the moral, ethical, and reputational consequences of working with Russian organisations, following media reports that other professional service sectors are seeking exemptions to the Government’s ban on UK-Russian business.
PRCA Director General Francis Ingham commented:
“Our industry has sent a resounding message to the Kremlin; Russia’s abhorrent invasion of Ukraine will not be tolerated.
“Other sectors may seek exemptions to the Government’s ban but our industry’s resolve on this issue is unyielding. The PR industry cut ties with Russia before government’s announcement and those in our industry fully recognise their duty to cut ties with Moscow.”
The Ukraine Communication Support Network (UCSN) – established jointly by the PRCA and ICCO – last week issued guidance to help organisations understand the parameters for the resumption of post-war business with Russia.
